The Inspector General of Police IGP Ibrahim Idris says they will deploy twenty eight thousand police men for the December 10th re-run election in Rivers State.
The IGP Ibrahim Idris also said three hundred and eighty hilux vehicles, eighteen gunboats, three helicopters and twenty horses, twenty dogs and well trained medical teams as well as commissioners of police for the election.
Ibrahim Idris stated this during a stakeholder meeting put together by the Independent National Electoral Commission,INEC in Port Harcourt ahead of of the re-run legislative election in Rivers State.
The IGP represented by the Deputy Inspector General of Police Joshak Habila warned that the police will not hesitate to demobilize anyone engaging in any act capable of ruining the election.
The Police warned that they will arrest and charge to court any candidate or electorate found at polling unit with more than five thousand naira.
