Angela Merkel seek fourth term in office

German Chancellor Angela Merkel has said she will run for a fourth term in office.

Speaking at the headquarters of her centre-right Christian Democratic Union (CDU), she confirmed reports that she would stand again for the position of party leader, and thus for chancellor.
