The Manufacturers Association of Nigeria is calling on the government to put in place policies that will help Nigerian manufacturers to export their products to other countries.
President of the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria in Rivers State CHARLES BEKE stated this on the sideline of the annual general meeting of the association in Port Harcourt.
CHARLES BEKE explained that exporting Made-In-Nigeria goods to other countries will help Nigeria come out of the present economic recession.
The President of the Rivers State Chapter of the Nigeria Manufacturers Association CHARLES BEKE also said President MUHAMMADU BUHARI is interested in seeing that local manufacturers grow in Nigeria.
Meanwhile, the Rivers State Commissioner of Commerce and Industry BRIGHT JACOB has made a case for encouragement of Nigerian manufacturers of goods.
The Rivers State Commissioner for Commerce and Industry BRIGHT JACOB said Nigeria has capable people who can produce quality goods should they be given the assistance.
The Rivers State Commissioner for Commerce and Industry BRIGHT JACOB also throw his weight behind the ban on imported rice saying the ban will help Nigeria rice producers to produce quality rice.
However, the Rivers State Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, BRIGHT JACOB urged those in authority and the leaders to show good example by suing made-in-Nigeria goods.
