New Police boss sends strong warning to troublemakers in Rivers state

The new Commissioner of Police in Rivers State, CP Folusho Adebanjo has issued a strong warning to cultists, perpetrators of crime and their sponsors in the state.
Adebanjo issued the warning during his maiden media briefing held in Port Harcourt.

He said he was aware that there were so many arms in the state.

He charged the Divisional Police Officers to always respond to tip-offs on any manner of crime in their areas, adding that strategies will be put in place to check activities of DPO’s in their areas.

Adebanjo said the police under him will make good use of intelligence.

Ahead of the re-run election, the Commissioner said there will be a lot of public enlightenment to discourage people from committing electoral crimes.

He appealed to the general public to assist the Police with credible information.

He said, “We are going to give enough room for intelligence because it is the best weapon to fight crime. We are aware that there are so many guns in Rivers state. We know about the daunting security challenges and we will tackle it head-on.

“I call on the DPO’s to be very proactive. I will be checking on you at random hours. You will notice my coming.

“Cultism has become a big issue, not just in Rivers state but in most parts of the country. This is evil. They are all evil people. They are human beings and not spirits. We will hunt them. I can assure you.

“Rivers state must be peaceful again.”
