The Omega Power Ministries OPM has offered an international scholarship to 16 students from different states in the country.

The 16 students who departed Port Harcourt Airport on Tuesday night will now study different courses ranging from Medicine, Mechanical Engineering and Law and Political Science at Kirklareli University in Turkey.

The beneficiaries were selected after passing the OPM screening test.

The General Overseer of Omega Power Ministries OPM Apostle Chibuzor Chinyere said education the aim is to give the students the best form of education.

Apostle Chibuzor Chinyere said the students were selected on merit and said he wants many families to come out of poverty.

He also said that education is the best legacy to give our young generations because the future of the country lies in them.

”It’s a non-denominational and non-tribal programme. It’s by merit. They took exams and passed and were selected. It is in a way trying to lift a lot of people. When you lift one single person in a family, you have lifted the whole family. We’ve been sending a lot of people on international scholarships to different countries like the United Kingdom, United States Canada, Cyprus, but this is the first time we are sending many people abroad to study” he said.

Apostle Chibuzor Chinyere also said that another set of students would travel abroad for studies.

He said the next set of students to receive international scholarships would be around 20.

Some of the beneficiaries who spoke to our correspondent commended Apostle Chibuzor Chinyere for the gesture.
