The Rivers State Signage and Advertising Agency RISAA has sealed-off four commercial banks and one telecommunication office in Port Harcourt for alleged non-compliance of advertizing fee.
The Acting Managing Director of RISAA Chukwudi Dimkpa led the team that sealed off the banks and telecommunication office in Port Harcourt.
The affected banks were Diamond bank, Guaranty Trust Bank GTBank, UBA and Unity bank all along Azikiwe Road in Port Harcourt while the affected telecommunication firm Globacom was located at the Trans Amadi Industrial Estate in Port Harcourt.
The Acting Managing Director of RISAA Chukwudi Dimpka said the agency would no longer tolerate non-payment of signange taxes by companies operating in Rivers State.
Dimpka also disclosed that Rivers State is losing over one billion naira to companies and individuals who do not comply to signage fees in the State.
He added that RISAA would continue to seal-off any defaulting firms operating in the State.
