The 3rd edition of the Nigeria Cricket Federation National U-17 boys championship recorded huge success as South-West wins the tournament for the 3rd consecutive time thereby winning the trophy for keeps.

5 zones featured in this year’s tournament and were represented in 2 groups.

North-West, South-South and North Central all squared up in group 1 while South-East and South-West in group 2.

GAME 1: NORTH-CENTRAL vs NORTH WEST

North-Central won the toss and elected to field gifting North-West the opportunity to bat scoring a total of 90 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in 15 overs. Danladi Isaac let the way with 23 runs, strongly supported by Agbo David with 14 runs in the Bating effort from North-West.

 In the second innings, North-Central could only manage 20 runs all out in 9.5 overs. Star performer in the bowling effort for North-West was Magaji Aliu with 5 wickets-West won the match by 70 Runs., Emmanuel Boniface 3wickets, with Godwin Shadrach 2 wickets as the only consolation for North-Central.

North-West won the match by 70 runs.

 GAME 2: SOUTH-WEST vs SOUTH EAST

South-West won the toss and elected to field. South-East went in to Bat and scored a total of 42 runs all out in 12.2 overs. Captain Sulaiman Runwese got 3 wickets as the top performer in the bowling effort from South-West.

In the second innings, South-West chased down the score in 12 overs scoring 43 runs for the loss of 1 wicket.

South-West won the match by 9 wickets.

 GAME 3: SOUTH-SOUTH vs NORTH-CENTRAL

South-South won the toss and elected to fied sending North-Central in to bat. North Central scored a total of 50 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in 15 0vers. Audu Isiaka wos the start performer with 3 wickets in 3 overs, supported by Okpiosio Daniel and Awene Peter with 2 wickets respectively.

In the second innings South-South chased and scored a total of 51 runs for the loss of 3 wickets in 9.2 overs.

South-South won the match by 7 wickets

GAME 4: SOUTH-SOUTH vs NORTH-WEST

North-West won the toss and elected to Bat scoring a total of 68 runs for the loss of 3 wickets in 10 overs with Danladi Isaac 28 runs and Abdulraman Jimoh 23 runs leading the onslaught for the bating side.

In the second innings, South-South put up a strong fight to chase but could only manage a total 53 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in 10 overs with Audu Isiaka scoring 19 runs for his team.

North-West won the match by 15 runs and qualified for the finals to play South-west

THIRD PLACE MATCH: SOUTH-SOUTH vs SOUTH EAST

South-South won the toss and elected to field sending in South-East to bat. South East scored a total of 56 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in 15 overs. Anene Peter was the star performer for South-South with 3 wickets.

 In the second innings, South-South Chased down the runs scoring a total of 57 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in 9.3 overs with Aho Peter scoring 18 runs to guide his team to the 3rdplace trophy.
