Protesting Super Falcons defied Nigerian sports minister Solomon Dalung by insisting they be paid their entitlements before they will quit their Abuja hotel.
Dalung visited the African champions Thursday and pleaded with them to be patient because all their monies will be paid to them.
However, assistant captain Osinachi Ohale told the minister that the team insist on staying put till they are paid.
“The NFF only reported the minister’s visit and his reassurances, they did not report that the Falcons refused to change their position,” an official disclosed.
“The minister told the girls his doors are open to them should they change their mind and go home and wait for their monies to be transferred to their accounts.”
Besides the daily allowances and match bonuses put at more than $16,500-a-player, the Falcons are also owed for the 2016 Olympic qualifier against Equatorial Guinea, the AWCON qualifier against Senegal as well as last year’s All Africa Games.
