The Federal High Court in sitting in Port Harcourt has declined jurisdiction in the suit filed by the Ikwerre Youth Movement International against Rivers State Government over the banning of youth activities in the state.

The Ikwerre Youth Movement International had gone to court to challenge the decision of Rivers State Government to ban youth activities in the state.

The Presiding Judge, Justice OMOTOSHO while delivering his ruling on the matter transferred the case to the Rivers State High Court.

The Judge said he is ordering the transfer of the case because he lacks the jurisdiction to entertain the matter.

The lawyer of Ikwerre Youth Movement International CLIFFORD CHUKU said they would follow the directives of the court.

He said they would continue with the matter because the matter was just transferred to the Rivers State High Court.

Our correspondent reports that the lawyer to Rivers State Government declined to comment on the matter.
