We have adopted no pass no promotion policy- School Principal

Public and Private schools have resumed classes nationwide for the 3rd term session. In Rivers State, our correspondent who monitored the resumption of schools reports that pupils were receiving lectures in their various classes.

At the Government Girls Secondary School, Rumuokwuta, the Principal of the School, Stella Ighenwo enjoined the pupils to read hard to pass their promotional exam. She advised the students to start now to read rather waiting till the end of the term to look for short cuts on how to pass their exams.

Stella Ighenwo also said that the teachers have resolved to provide high quality teaching to students this term as no pupil will be promoted without passing their exam.

Some of the students who spoke with our correspondent said that they were happy to re-unite with their friends after the second term holiday.

Some of the students promised to take their studies very serious so as to pass their promotion examination.

Meanwhile, some parents in Rivers State have expressed disappointment over the continued fuel scarcity as schools resumed session yesterday.

They decried the extra financial burden the fuel scarcity will have on them following the resumption of schools across the nation.

Some of the said it will be difficult for them to send their children and wards to school as a result of the present fuel scarcity.

They called on the Rivers State Government to provide free buses to reduce the financial burden of the high cost of transportation on them.
