GreenvsChina: Hearing to commence on Feb 17

The Rivers State High Court will on February 17 commence hearing in the matter instituted by CHRISTOPHER GREEN against veteran sportscaster, CHINA IKWERREMAN ACHERU.

GREEN who is the Special Adviser to the Rivers State Governor on Real Madrid Academy in his suit accused CHINA of defaming his character.

Our correspondent reports that the matter which was initially slated for hearing was stalled after it was established that the defendant, CHINA did not acknowledge the hearing notice as claimed by the bailiff.

CHRIS GREEN who is the claimant was represented by, A. B ODILLI, while CHINA ACHERU was represented by human rights lawyer O. C HIGHER-KING.

Presiding Judge, Justice C. K. DAPPA ADDO asked all parties in the matter to file their replies before the next adjourned for hearing to commence.

CHINA ACHERU had in a publication on his blog accused the Rivers state government official, CHRIS GREEN of threat to life; a claim GREEN described as defamation.
